Denmark is set amongst some of the best attractions in the "Great Southern" of the South West of Australia.
A 50km car trip east will take you to the oldest European settlement in the state - Albany, where you can visit King George Sound, Princess Royal Fortress, the Gap, the Natural Bridge and the fine swimming beach of Frenchman Bay.
Fifty kilometres in the other direction gets you to Walpole, the home of the giant tingle trees and the world famous Tree Top Walk.
Then there is Denmark itself, considered by many to be the jewel of the South West. It has Ocean Beach close by for excellent surfing and beach fishing. Go for forest walks around town including the Mokare Trail (3km) and the Wilson Inlet Trail (6km).
Denmark town features fascinating shopping and eateries. Go up into the hills for great views over pastures of the Southern Ocean and go a little further to discover delightful wineries.
Then after a day's exploration come back and relax at The House on the Lake.
